Britannia Inn of Llanmadoc, Llanmadoc, Swansea, SA3 1DB have now been awarded the prestigious Good Food Award for Gastro Pubs 2020. Over the last twelve months we have evaluated customer feedback and this Gastro Pub has demonstrated exceptional levels of food quality, service and value when compared to our industry benchmarks in their category.
In recognition of this achievement they have been duly awarded the 2020 Good Food Award for Gastro Pubs.
This picturesque Pub is situated in the heart of the village of Llanmadoc. This delightful village is on the north western tip of the Gower Peninsula (the first place to be designated an Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty).
The Britannia is a well preserved late17th Century Inn. The beams in the lounge of the Britannia Inn are reputed to be from shipwrecks which were “lanterned” ashore by wreckers for their valuable cargo. The pub still has its original fireplace and bread oven. In addition in parts of the pub one can still see the original gas lamps.
